Better than a poke in the eye with a blunt stick.  |
As with all the Rio products Ive encoutered (admittedly thats only 2), the supplied instructions are pretty poor. The software upgrade supplied with it removed one of my favourite features of the player - hold down centre button to select tracks from a list. When I first started using it the battery behaved erratically, losing power after only an hour or so, though after a few recharges it sorted itself out.All things considered it could be better, but there is no alternative for memory upgrades, and the Rio 600 sure needs it. A total of 64Mb in your Rio gets you about an hour of good-quality mp3 music, which isnt enough for my liking, but its better than a poke in the eye with a blunt stick.

The addition pack, for me, was brilliant. I had a Rio600 for a while I was used to having to limit my number of songs, the pack, however, let me have over an hours worth of songs! It was heavenly - I can make it all the way to University now without having to repeat songs! Brilliant

I have recently purchased the backpack for my Rio 600. It has been a godsend. The 32mb standard memory was just not enough whereas this doubles my capacity, it allows me to carry round well over an hours worth of tunes at a high bitrate and therefoe high sound quality. This only downside- the price. I recommend it to any Rio 600 or Rio 800 owners- go and buy it now!
